Education in India
Education has been thrust sectors ever since India attained Independence Education care into the Concurrent List in 1976. The year 2010 was a highlight year for education in the country.
Elementary Education:
The government of India introduced the District Primary Education Programme in November 1994 to regulate the elementary education system in India.

Organizations involved in the higher education system of the country:It works as a link between elementary and higher education and plays a vital role in this respect. A student's future depends on the education she/he receives at the secondary level, apart from the base of knowledge of a child. Secondary education can be the tool for shaping and directing a child to a bright future. Secondary education includes children between the age group of 14-18 years studying in 9 10, leading to higher and secondary classes of 11th and 12th.

The Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act finally came into existence on 1st April 2010. This Act provides free and mandatory education to all children in six to fourteen years.
It is now the Center's legally enforceable duty and the states to provide free and compulsory education.
There are 634-degree awarding institutions in the country, with Tamil Nadu Leading the chart with 59, followed by 58 in Uttar Pradesh, 48n in Rajasthan, 44 Maharashtra, And Karnataka, Gujarat Madhya Pradesh.
